I am SO excited to introduce you to this amazing woman! Sammie and I met back in January 2015. We were both studying at The Beautiful You Life Coaching academy at the same time and had booked tickets to go and see Gabrielle Bernstein. I first met Sammie there and she was such a welcoming glisten of love and light. We ended up both coaching each other throughout and after our course and our friendship has blossomed that I am now very grateful to be able to call her a close and dear friend of mine.
When people ask you what you do, what do you say to them?
I am a life coach and Reiki healer who works with women who are feeling overwhelmed, stressed and have perhaps lost their sense of self in a way. I love guiding them back into lives of ease, calm, clarity and connection.
How did you get into Life Coaching?
I’ve been drawn to life coaching since my early twenties, I knew I wanted to become qualified, but hadn’t found a course that felt right yet. Then I (miraculously!) stumbled upon Beautiful You Coaching Academy, and I knew from the minute I lay my eyes on that website, I had found the one for me. With a combination of that incredible training, my own life experiences, insatiable curiosity and a deep desire to serve, my life coaching business practice began.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I’ve always wanted to live life on my own terms. I wanted to work the heart-fuelled job of my dreams, so the natural progression seemed to be to create that business myself. So, here we are!
Whats your favourite thing about having your own business?
I’ve got two!
Firstly, working with clients I love. Being able to attract my people is such a blessing, and I get to work with women I adore every day. That brings a smile to my face every time I think about it.
I also relish in having influence over how my workweek looks. I can work when I am most creative and productive, go to early morning or midday yoga classes and have afternoon coffee dates. I’m currently playing with bringing my own cycles into the mix, having bigger, fuller, more productive weeks followed by pulling back a little when I need to.
What is the kindest thing one of your clients have ever said to you?
Hearing the beautiful feedback from clients has to be one of the best parts about this job. Watching woman reclaim their shine, and live lives radiating with love and happiness is the Best. Feeling. Ever.
And on that note, you once told me that you believe I have an incredibly high vibration for love and happiness. Those words mean the world to me, because, really, this is my mission. To hear that you felt that was such a buzz.
What’s the best advice you’ve ever received?
Be real. Be authentic. Don’t become a copy of anyone or everyone around you. Because the only thing that will set you apart from the others is being really, truly, YOU. So – create from your heart, trust in your own self and revel in the journey as you realise you are enough, just as you are.
If you could give yourself 3 pieces of advice from the beginning that you know now, what would they be?
1/ Trust yourself. You’ve got this, and you are so ready.
2/ Let go of pleasing everyone. It’s impossible and you will miss out on looking after yourself the way you know you should.
3/ Play! Don’t take yourself so seriously. It’s ok (in fact, it’s imperative!) to simultaneously do some seriously deep heart-work, and have a laugh. It’s all good!
QUICK Q & A
What is something new you learnt today? A powerful saying that I think is probably well known, but I’d never heard before. While listening to Hay House radio I heard “You can’t heal what you can’t feel”. Truth!
I love… So many things! But right now I am especially loving: Working with women who want to live brighter, more ease filled lives, RnB tunes while I work, new season mangoes, yoga nidra and lemongrass and peppermint essential oils
Right now I am grateful for… All my new soul sista’s! My man and his eternal support. Good food. Hot summer days.
A proud moment in my life was… The day I graduated from Beautiful You Coaching Academy. Knowing I had created the space in my life for it, done the work and was on the road to living out my dream.
Whats the top song in your ‘most played’ playlist? Right now it’s Leon Bridges – Coming Home. Officially obsessed.
Saturday nights out or in? I’m right in the middle here! I love a quiet night in, a movie (and chocolate!). I also love dinner and wines with my girls. Can I have both? 😉
If you were a fruit you would be a? Probably an avocado! I eat ridiculous amounts of them – can’t get enough! Avo on everything ☺
Favourite exercise? Yoga. For life!
Favourite way to spend a Sunday? Early morning coffee and farmers markets, and an afternoon at the beach.
